6th GRADE 3RD TERM PROJECT
FOR WORLD HISTORY

RESEARCH A PERSON’S LIFE AND ACHIEVEMENTS

 

You have read about _________________________________________in Unit 4 of our textbook.
This person has made a lasting, positive contribution to the world.

As your project, you are to prepare a presentation about this person’s life and his/her achievements.

1. Start your project by reviewing the information about your topic in Unit 4.

2. Visit your local library and borrow a book or two that will provide you with more information about
   your topic.
3. You should also search the Internet to gather more information on the topic.

4. Once you have finished the research on your topic, it is time to plan
     And organize your presentation.

5. Your presentation should be a combination of visual, written and oral.

6. Be sure that, at a minimum, you cover the following:

      *where and when the person was born and where he/she grew up
      * the person’s achievements and contributions to our culture and the world
      * important events in this person’s life
      * how this person’s life influenced their goals and achievements
      * if you were able to spend 1 hour with ______________________________, what questions would
         you ask him/her and why
      
7. Make sure that you also have the following:

       * A written bibliography of all resources used for your presentation
       * When taking an author’s own words directly from a book, you must cite that in the body of your
          written work
       * When using visuals, make sure that they are large enough for the class to see from their seats.
          ( you could also make copies of any visuals or documents for each of your classmates )
       *Make sure that you are well prepared to talk about your project. You may want to rehearse your
         presentation with your parents, or other family members.
